MAINTENANCE
After you have started finding an antioxidant that works for you, it is time to find an exfoliating acid. It may sound scary but its really a great addition to your skin routine that will help shed dead skin cells and keep your skin constantly exfoliating itself to keep from getting wrinkles and fine lines. It also helps with pigmentation and there's lots of different acids to choose from! :) Some are more gentle and some are harsh. It's best to start off with a gentle exfoliant and build your way up.
The one acid I would recommend everyone to start off with is Glycolic Acid. It can be purchased just about anywhere and you can get it as a cream, a toner, or a mask. It's a very gentle exfoliant and it is best to start off with around 5-10% strength and build your way up. If you have already tried Glycolic Acid or want a different option,
I would also recommend Lactic Acid. It is even milder, so you can start with a 10 to 20% strength.
These are great building blocks to add to your routine to help unclog pores, reduce oiliness, exfoliate the skin gently, and help prevent wrinkles.
Sunscreen is once again the most important thing when using a chemical exfoliant, because your skin will be more sensitive to the sun's rays. Tomorrow will be my last post about maintenance so stay tuned!
