Why I have suddenly STOPPED Retin-A

katelynnerebekah

For those of you who have watched my Youtube videos, and read all my articles and blog posts about Retinol and Retin-A, this may come as a surprise to hear.

I have completely stopped using Retin-A this past week. I was sooo excited to use it, and it was working well for me. But I suddenly started getting migraines each time I would use it. At first I thought it was a coincidence, but now I know that it was caused by the Retin-A cream. I did some research online and found lots of articles from trustworthy websites about how too much vitamin A through the skin or by taking it internally can cause some serious side effects.

My doctor had not told me this, and most doctors or dermatologist don't tell you the side effects you could have. I had no idea that a skin care product could cause these symptoms!

I'm glad I found these articles, and I can share them with others to show that you need to look into things yourself before trusting what other people say no matter who they are. It's important to take care of yourself!

I've read that the cream is a synthetic form of vitamin A that can actually be TOXIC to the human body! If you use it when you are pregnant it can even cause an abortion. Scary! I have decided not to recommend it to anyone on my page, or use it myself anymore.

I'm starting over on my youtube with different topics, and I will be making a video about this post probably.

Here are some links to studies I have found that you may want to read if you are unsure about using it. I will say that is completely your choice if you want to use it, but it has caused a lot of symptoms for me and I only used it 3 weeks.

Here are some of the side effects of using it that your doctor may not tell you:

  • fever, weakness, tiredness;

  • nausea, vomiting;

  • bone pain;

  • rash, itching, dry skin, increased sweating;

  • hair loss or skin changes;

  • dry mouth, nose, or throat;

  • headache; or migraine

  • vision changes.

Those are all the symptoms you would get from Vitamin A overdose. and synthetic vitamins in your skin is even worse!

Here are the studies I read:
